Le cascate di fuoco allo Yosemite National Park

Yosemite Firefall | No, non è lava che scende giù da una montagna. L’illusione di una cascata di fuoco che scende dalla montagna El Capitan nello Yosemite National Park è un fenomeno annuale.

E’ conosciuto come “Firefall”, ed è un effetto naturale che si verifica quando il sole al tramonto illumina la cascata.

Questo fenomeno accade ogni anno nelle due ultime settimane di febbraio, quando i raggi del Sole colpiscono con una particolare traiettoria le Horsetail Falls.

Se volete catturare in foto questo particolare bagliore rosso e arancione che scende dalla montagna, bisogna recarsì lì a febbraio; il sito ufficiale suggerisce che il modo migliore per vederlo è dall’area pic-nic El Capitan.

Come arrivare allo Yosemite National Park | Da San Francisco potete raggiungere lo Yosemite National Park percorrendo la Big Oak Flat (sulla 120) e Arch Rock (sulla 140). Se arrivate da Los Angeles potete prendere la 41 passando da Oakhurst oppure la Tioga Road che solitamente è chiusa, a causa delle nevicate, da novembre a maggio.

There is only a few days out of the year (and the weather has to line up perfectly!) when the sun is setting and hitting Horsetail Falls. And when it does it looks like lava is pouring down El Capitan. I knew I had to book it up to Yosemite and not miss this event. We arrived at our spot and waited 45 minutes not thinking it was going to happen. We gave ourselves 5 extra minutes before calling it quits and driving back home. Then Horsetail falls graced us with this beauty and everyone burst into applause! Then it faded back to normal, and a minute later graced us with a second show!

This was a sight I am so glad I did not miss! It brought back my Hawaii memories when I went chasing lava. Who knew I could chase lava in Yosemite! Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. Spontaneous trips are always the ones that blow my mind the most! 🙌🏻🔥🌎❤️
